2nd Annual Socks Century

The Socks Charity Century!!! We are riding to bring awareness to those fighting cancer. More importantly, we are putting money directly in the hands of those in need.

My mom passed away in July 2020 after battling cancer, and five weeks later, I lost my dad. Out of this significant loss came The Socks Charity. I saw how families, loved ones, and significant others struggled with the financial burden. So, I started The Socks Charity to help relieve some of the financial obligations. Allowing the focus to be placed on caregiving and assisting the cancer fighter.

How are we different? We do not hand funds over to organizations or businesses. We put the money directly into the hands of those who need it the most.

How can you help? We fundraise and bring awareness by selling FU Cancer Socks for $35.00. 100% of the proceeds to The Socks Charity. You can also make donations directly to The Socks Charity @ www.thesockscharity.com. We host monthly SOCKs rides. AND NOW we are going to add our annual SOCKs Century ride.

What is The Socks Century? This event will become a premier ride to help fundraise for The Socks Charity. 

The weekend will start with a happy hour and packet pickup at our headquarters in the historic district of West Tampa. We will provide adult beverages, food, and more during packet pick--up on March 25th from 5-9 pm at 1702A N Howard Ave; Tampa, FL 33607.

The ride is on March 26th in beautiful San Antonio, Florida. The route will be a mixture of rolling hills and flat, fast shady roads. This year riders will have two options: the entire 100-mile socks route or a shorter 100k (62.1 miles) alternative.

ALL registered riders are invited to our pre-ride happy hour on March 25th. Each rider will receive a special edition Socks T-shirt, fully supported 100-mile/100k ride, and post-ride BBQ in the park.

** For those who complete the 100-mile route, you will receive a unique edition pair of FU Cancer socks. This is only for the 100-mile finishers, which makes them extra special. 

The best part of all 100% of the proceeds goes directly to families battling cancer. So, not only are you accomplishing something for yourself and showing others what is possible. But, you are making a difference in someone's life in their most significant time of need. 

We will have six different levels, so no one is left behind:

Level1: You ride at your speed. So, there is no speed limit, and you can go as fast as you please.

All other levels will have ride leaders.

Level2: 21-22 mph max. The ride leader will make sure this group does not get out of control. On the hills, the pace will be steady, and on the flats, the speeds will be 21-22.

Level 3: 19-20 mph max.

Level 4: 17-18 mph max.

Level 5: 15-16 mph max

Level 6: We want to ride at our own pace and enjoy the journey.

Ride support will include on-course vehicles and SAG stations at miles 25, 50, and 75...
